KING'S BASEBALL FALLS TO 21ST RANKED SHENANDOAH IN SEASON OPENER
WINCHESTER, VA -- Host Shenandoah University, ranked 21st nationally in the pre-season, posted 13 hits en route to an 8-2 victory over visiting King's College in the Monarchs season opening contest Monday in Winchester, Va.

After The Yellow Jackets built a 2-10 first inning lead. the Monarchs pushed a run across in the top of third
when Tim Marchetti singled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Jim Baczkowski.

After Shenandoah built the lead to 8-1 after six innings, the Monarchs added their
final run in the eighth inning when Rob Lemoncelli singled, moved to second on a base hit by Mike Santiago, and scored on a single up the middle from Eric Bohem.

King's posted seven hits in the game, paced by Bohem
with two singles in his Monarch debut. Brian Mikus and Rich Acierno joined Lemoncelli, Santiago, and Marchetti with base hits.

King's starter Brenton
Eades took the pitching loss, allowing four earned runs on nine hits in two and one-third innings.

King's returns to action Saturday when the Monarchs face Widener University at 1:00 p.m. at Diamond Nation in Flemington, NJ.
