KING'S BASEBALL WINS 16-15 SLUGFEST IN 10 INNINGS OVER MANHATTANVILLE

PURCHASE, NY -- Brenton Eades drove in Anthony Re with a one-out double in the top of the 10th inning to propel the King's College baseball team to a 16-15 Freedom Conference victory over Manhattanville College Sunday in Purchase, NY.

With the win, the Monarchs improved to 5-6 overall and 1-2 in Freedom Conference games. Manhattanville
, meanwhile, slipped to 6-3 and 2-1 in league competition.

Deadlocked at 15-15 after nine fill innings, Re led off the 10th with a double to left-centerfield. After Rob Lemoncelli
fouled out, Eades drilled a double to left field to bring home Re with what proved to be the winning run.

In the bottom of the 10th, King's hurler Ryan Gimbi
retired the first two batters before issuing a walk to Hans Arias. The game would end on the next at-bat when Dan Fiorito grounded out to Gimbi for the final out of the contest.

King's banged out 21 hits on the day as seven of the nine Monarch batters had at least two hits. Eric Bohem
was 4-for-6 with two runs and four RBI while Eades went 4-for-6 with two runs, and three RBI, including the game-winner. Re was 3-for-6 with three runs and a RBI to pace the King's offense.

Mike Santiago finished 2-for-6 with three RBI while Brian Mikus
contributed by going 2-for-6 while driving in two runs. Lemoncelli and Tim Marchetti chipped in with two hits apiece. Gimbi (1-0) picked up the pitching win in relief, allowing no runs and just two hits in three and one-third innings of work in only his second collegiate appearance.

Manhattanville
was paced by Bobby Guerra who went 4-for-5 with four RBI along with Arias who was 4-for-5 with two RBI.

The Monarchs return to action Tuesday when King's hosts Marywood
in a non-conference matchup at 4:00 p.m. at Lipo Field in the Betzler Athletic Complex.
