King's Baseball Hosting Eastern in Saturday Freedom Conference Doubleheader, Start Time Moved to 11:30 AM

King's Hosts Eastern in Freedom Conference Action on Saturday

Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-- The King's College baseball team faces Eastern University in a three-game series beginning Friday. The teams play a doubleheader Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at King's Lipo Field. Game time was originally 1:00 p.m. but moved up in an attempt to beat the anticipated rain.

The Monarchs come into the Saturday doubleheader with a 5-8 record overall and a 1-3 mark in the Freedom Conference after dropping a 15-5 decision to Eastern on Friday. Eastern is 11-5 overall and are 3-1 in the Freedom after Friday's win over King's

Eric Bohem has led the King's offense batting .439 with 13 RBI and also scored 14 runs. Tim Marchetti is hitting .385 with 10 runs scored and five RBI. Rob Lemoncelli has set the table from the lead off spot batting .404 with a team-high 17 runs scored. Lemoncelli has added five doubles, nine walks and 10 RBI.

Coming into the weekend series, the Eagles offense has been led by Greg DeSarro with his .491 batting average, 17 RBI, 13 runs scored, four double and a home run. Andre Butler is hitting .462 with four doubles, two triples and two homers to go with 11 RBI and seven runs scored.

The Monarchs step out of conference play on Tuesday when they travel to Penn College for a 4:00 p.m. start at Bowman Field in Williamsport.
