King's Baseball Downs Baptist Bible 26-18
Wilkes-Barre, Pa.-- The King's College baseball got the bats going early and knocked off visiting Baptist Bible 26-18 in non-conference action Wednesday afternoon at Lipo Field.
The Monarchs jumped out early scoring four runs in the bottom of the first. King's broke the game open in the second when the Monarchs put up an 11 spot keyed by a Chris sweeney's seventh home run of the season.
Baptist Bible struck back with a seven run fifth inning to close the gap, but the Monarchs closed the door with six runs in the seventh to ice the game.
Brian Mikus paced the King's offense going 4-for-6 with five RBI and four runs scored.
Rob Lemoncelli finished his day 3-for-3 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI. Sweeney drove in four runs and scored three more and finished 2-for-3.
Dave Sandrowicz picked up the win on the bump going three innings allowing two runs on three hits.
The Monarchs return to Freedom Conference action on Thursday when they host DeSales at 3:30 p.m.
