KING'S MEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO MCDANIEL IN SEASON OPENER

WILKES-BARRE -- Shane McCracken scored a pair of goals to lift visiting McDaniel Univesrity to a 4-1 victory over host King's College in the opening round of the Monarch/Royal Classic Friday night at McCarthy Stadium.

Shane McCracken gave the Green Terror a 1-0 lead off an assist from Max Rutherford 13:46 into the game. The score remained the same until Edgar Escobar upped the lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal with 36:13 left in the contest

Rutherford then struck net off an assist from Calderon with 14:55 left before Shane McCracken scored just 2:35 later to push the score to 4-0.

King's got on the board late when Keegan Fees scored on an Erik Foster at the 88:25 mark to bring the final score to 4-1.

McDaniel held an 11-5 advantage in shots while King's owned a 6-0 lead in corner kicks. Monarch goalie Mark Labbadia
made four saves on the night.

King's returns to action Saturday with a 3:30 p.m. matchup with Farmingdale State at McCarthy Stadium.
