KING'S VOLLEYBALL OPENS 0-2 AT MORAVIAN TOURNAMENT

BETHLEHEM -- The King's College women's volleyball team opened the 2012 season with a 0-2 showing the first day of the Moravian College Invitational Friday in Bethlehem

The Lady Monarchs dropped their opener 3-0 to Landmark Conference power Moravian by scores of 25-13, 25-8, 25-11. King's then fell 3-1 to Muhlenberg by scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19

Against Moravian, Kelsie Kramer had three kills and one block. Molly Dahl added two kills and four digs while Alexa Nelson also had two kills . Mary Loughran tallied six assists, two kills and a block assist while Jillian Foster and Emily Heimbecker chipped in with 11 and 10 digs respectively.

In the match with Muhlenberg, Lourghran had five kills, 18 assists, and 22 digs. Dahl tallied five kills, six digs, and three solo blocks while Nelson also contributed five kills. Foster registered 22 digs while Heimbecker chipped in with three kills and 11 digs.

King's continues play at 11:00 a.m. against Wesley College before meeting Alvernia at 2:00 p.m.
