Box Score King's Volleyball Downs Gwynedd Mercy in Straight Sets

Wilkes-Barre, Pa.—The King's College volleyball team earned their third win of the season behind a big night from freshman Alexa Nelson as the Lady Monarchs defeated Gwynedd Mercy 3-0 on Friday night at Scandlon Gymnasium.

Nelson paced the offense with 12 kills on 18 attacks and one assist. Kelsie Kramer added five kills and had the Lady Monarchs only block.

Mary Loughran triggered the King's offense with 19 assists to go with four kills and one service ace. Jillian Foster scored a pair of kills, 10 digs and six service aces.

The Griffins were led by Ariana Richards who recorded eight kills as well as six digs. Carrieri posted seven kills and three digs.

The Lady Monarchs won in straight sets with scores of 25-22, 25-17 and 25-12. King's is back in action Tuesday when they host FDU-Florham in Freedom Conference action at 7:00 p.m.
