KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS 3-1 TO FDU-FLORHAM
WILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's volleyball team put up a fight for three games against traditional Freedom Conference Tournament qualifier FDU-Florham, but in the end the Lady Monarchs dropped a 3-1 decision to the visiting Devils Tuesday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
FDU won by scores of 25-16, 25-19, 10-25, 25-10 to improve to a very deceiving 1-5 overall and 1-1 in the Freedom Conference. Tuesday night marked the first time FDU played with a full lineup as several players returned for the first time after being suspended for the first five matches for an off-court incident. King's, meanwhile, slipped to 3-9 and 0-2 in league play.
Molly Dahl led King's with seven kills and one block.
Alexa Nelson and
Kelsie Kramer tallied four kills each while
Mary Loughran dished out 16 assists and tallied 15 digs.
Alyssa Powell added 19 digs while
Jillian Foster registered eight digs and five service aces.
Kaleigh Brady chipped in with six digs, two aces, and three assists.
FDU was paced by Savannah Hickox with 11 kills and nine digs while Helena Riede posted 10 kills and 11 digs. Riley Brewer chipped in with 29 assists for the Devils.
King's returns to action Saturday when the Lady Monarchs host Albright College on Homecoming Day at 1:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.
