KING'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNED BY WILKES, 3-1

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's volleyball team won the first set of the match but host Wilkes University rebounded to capture the next three to post s 3-1 triumph in a matchup of cross-town rivals.

King's won the opening set 25-20 before the Lady Colonels were victorious in the next three sets 25-10, 25-15, 26-24.

With the win, Wilkes improved to 6-10 overall and 2-1 in the Freedom Conference while King's slipped to 3-11 and 0-3 in league competition.

Elen O'Donnell led the Lady Monarchs with seven kills and five digs while Alexa Nelson followed with six kills and three total blocks. Mary Loughran distributed 21 assists with 12 digs and five kills while Molly Dahl tallied four kills. Jillian Foster and Eboni Chase chipped in with 17 and 15 kills respectively.

The Lady Monarchs return to action Saturday at a 1:00 p.m. tri-meet at Montclair State University with Mt. St. Mary's serving as the third squad.
