KING'S VOLLEYBALL LOSES FINAL TWO MATCHES AT MUHLENBERG TOURNEY
ALLENTOWN -- The King's College women's volleyball team finished the second day of the Muhlenberg College Tournament with a pair of losses, finishing the event with a 1-3 mark.
King's lost to Moravian College in its first match Saturday 3-0, by scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-11. The Lady Monarchs were then bested by DeSales 3-1, by scores of 25-9, 25-13, 21-25, 25-11. King's now stands at 2-7 on the year.
Against Moravian, Alexa Nelson posted four kills and two digs while Mary Loughran added eight assists and six digs. Jillian Foster tallied nine digs while Emily Heimbecker had seven digs.
Versus DeSales, Nelson posted a team-high 17 kills while Loughran dished out 32 assists with 14 digs. Molly Dahl had five kills while Kaleigh Brady registered 16 digs and four kills. Foster came through with 21 digs while Eboni Chase also contributed with 16 digs.
King's will return to the court Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs host DeSales in its Freedom Conference opener at 7 PM in Scandlon Gymnasium.
