KING'S WOMEN'S SWIMMERS DOWN ELIZABETHTOWN TO FINISH WITH SCHOOL-RECORD 8-5 MARK

ELIZABETHTOWN - The King's College women's swim team finished the regular-season with the best record in program history as the Lady Monarchs posted a 119-77 victory over host Elizabethtown College Saturday in Elizabethtown.

With the victory, the Lady Monarchs finished the regular-season with a 8-5 record, marking the first time ever the women's program finished the season above the .500 plateau.

Winning two events for King's was Patricia Manning who was victorious in the 200-backstroke with a 2:26.82 as well as the 200-breaststroke at 2:42.80. She was second in the 200-freestyle with a time of 2:11.13.

Caroline Fitch was also a two-time winner, capturing the 1000-freestyle with a time of 11:57.85 as well as the 500-freestyle at 5:50.70. Macawley Brown won the 200-individual medley with a 2:28.85 and placed second in the 100-freestyle at 59.53

Kim Brino was the winner in the 200-butterfly with a 2:27.08. Chrissy O'Loughlin was second in the 1000-freestyle at 12:21.97 while Shannon Johnson was second in the 500-freestyle with a 6:03.77.

King's 400-freestyle relay team of Shannon Johnson, Mary Bulger, O'Loughlin, and Fitch were victorious with a time of 4:14..90.

The Lady Monarch 400-medley relay team of Brino, Bulger, Brown, and Hailey Moorehead won with a 4:31.10.

King's swimmers will compete in the 2013 Middle Atlantic Conference Championships February 8-10 at the Wilkes-Barre CYC.
