KING'S GRAPPLERS FALL AT ONEONTA STATE, 27-16
ONEONTA, NY — A shorthanded King's College wrestling team won five of 10 matches but host Oneonta State took advantage of bonus points as the Red Dragons tallied a 27-16 vicgory Wednesday night in Oneonta, NY.
With the loss, King's slipped to 4-8 while Oneonta improved to 6-8.
The Monarchs competed without four starters, gave a solid showing but the Red Dragons used three pins, a forfeit, and a major decision in their five wins while the Monarchs were only able to tally one bonus point.
King's freshman
Jamie Scarantino (11-10) posted a 13-3 major decision at 125-pounds. Fellow rookie
DeMarquis Holley (13-7) garnered a 6-2 decision at 141. At 165, King's
Tommy Desir improved to 18-4 with a 10-5 decision at 165 while
Ahmed Burton (4-2) earned a 7-3 decision at 174. King's final win came at heavyweight where
Peter Dwyer (10-2) registered a 6-2 decision to close out the match.
