King's Men's Soccer Posts 4-2 Road Win Over Delaware Valley

DOYLESTOWN – The King's College men's soccer team built a 4-1 half-time lead and held on for a 4-2 victory over host Delaware Valley College Saturday in Doylestown.

With the win, King's improved to 6-3-3 overall and 1-1 in Freedom Conference play. The Aggies, meanwhile, fell to 7-6-1 overall and 0-2 in the MAC.

King's took a 1-0 lead on an own goal just 1:19 into the game. The Monarchs pushed the score to to 2-0 when Andrew Tuminello scored off a Chris Nygren assist at the 5:14 mark. 

The lead grew to 3-0 when Daniel Hernandez struck net off another assist from Nygren at 8:09. The Aggies cut the lead to 3-1 on a Peter Tantillo goal at 9:45, but the Monarchs scored their final goal when Mike Smart found the back of the net at 22:29.
 
Delaware Valley would add the final goal of the game with 0:35 left in the contest.

King's held a 24-13 advantage in shots while each team posted three corner kicks. King's goalie Mark Labbadia and Karl Jamiolkowski had two saves each.

King's returns to action Thursday when the Monarchs host Misericordia at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
