KING'S FIELD HOCKEY DOWNS FDU ON MONAGHAN LATE GOAL
MADISON, NJ -- Alyssa Monaghan scored the game-winning goal with 1:21 left  in regulation as the King's College field hockey team posted a thrilling 2-1 victory over host FDU-Florham Saturday in Madison, NJ.

With the win, King's improved to 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the Freedom Conference while FDU slipped to 6-8 and 2-2 in league play.
King's opened the scoring just 3:53 into the game when Shelby Madden scored off an assist from Abby McManus. FDU tied the score at the 11:42 mark on an unassisted goal by Nicole Pavlack as the teams entered the half-time break deadlocked at 1-1.

With the game appeared headed for overtime King's walked away with the win when Alyssa Monaghan scored the game-winner in a scramble in front of the Devil cage at 68:39.
King's outshot FDU 12-10 while the Devils held a 16-8 advantage in penalty corners.  King's goalie Megan Withrow made six saves in the contest.
