KING'S VOLLEYBALL PICKS UP FIRST FREEDOM WIN WITH 3-0 VICTORY OVER MANHATTANVILLE
WILKES-BARRE — Junior setter
Mary Loughran made her presence felt with an outstanding all-around game, posting 33 assists, five kills, and eight digs to power the King's College women's volleyball team to an important 3-0 victory over visiting Manhattanville College Wednesday night in Scandlon Gymnasium.
King's, which won by scores of 25-16, 25-22, 25-20, improved to 10-5 overall. But more important, the Lady Monarchs picked up their first Freedom Conference victory of the year in three attempts.
Loughran was outstanding with on-the-money sets, excellent defense, and a precision attack with her setter dump. Loughran fed
Elen O'Donnell to the tune of 17 kills while the sophomore chipped in with 16 digs.
Jessica Carr followed with eight kills and four digs while
Alexa Nelson added six kills and three total blocks.
Sarah Busse contributed 16 digs and five service aces while
Alyssa Powell and
Eboni Chase chippe din with seven and six digs respectively.
Kelsie Kramer tallied five kills while
Aubrey Gryskiewicz registered two kills and three assists.
King's returns to the court Saturday with the Middle Atlantic Conference Cross-Over Meet at Manhattanville in Purchase, NY. King's will play Alvernia University and Albright College
