Box Score King's College Men's Soccer Forges 1-1 Tie with Wilkes
Edwardsville, Pa. -- The King's College men's soccer team battled to a 1-1 double overtime tie with crosstown rival Wilkes Tuesday night in Freedom Conference action.
The Monarchs struck first in the 30th minute on a goal by Cameron Rhoades assisted by
Niall Croke. King's took a 1-0 lead into the break.
Eric McAnean got the Colonels even, 1-1, right out of the half when he deposited a Alex Benne pass in the 47th minute to set the final.
King's held a 14-12 advantage in shots while also holding an 8-2 edge in corner kicks.
Mark Labbadia started in net for King's making three saves. Dave Marr made five stops for the Colonels.
The Monarchs moved to 8-3-4 overall and 3-1-1 in the Freedom while Wilkes is 9-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in league play.
The Monarchs are back in action on Saturday when they host Eastern at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
