KING'S VOLLEYBALL WRAPS UP SEASON WITH 3-0 WIN OVER JOHN JAY

NEW YORK, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball team wrapped up the 2013 season on a high note as the Lady Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over host John Jay University Friday night in New York City.

King's, which won by scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-16, ended the season with a 14-12 overall record. In head coach Bernie Kachinko's first season back with the program after a three-year retirement, the Lady Monarchs significantly improved upon the 2012 squad's 9-18 record.

Juniir Emily Heimbecker led the way for King's with 15 kills and nine digs while junior setter Mary Loughran dished out 26 assists and contributed five kills and five digs. Freshman Jessica Carr tallied nine kills while fellow rookie Sarah Busse posted three kills, five assists, and eight digs.  Aubrey Gryskiewicz added eight digs while Elen O'Donnell followed with three kills and five digs.

King's two seniors Eboni Chase and Katie Senunas both played the final match of their careers.  Chase had five digs and one assist while Senunas chipped in with one kill, one service aces, and three digs.
