King's Women's Basketball Set for Catholic Invitational Tourney

KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RETURNING TO COURT AT CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY TOURNEY

WASHINGTON DC -- The King's College women's basketball team will return to the court on Monday after a 22-day layoff when the Lady Monarchs compete in the Fairmont Inn Invitational at Catholic University in Washington D.C.

King's will face host Catholic University at 2:00 p.m. while Regis College and Clark University will square off in the other semi-final at 4:00 p.m.  The consolation game is set for Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with the championship game to follow at 4:00 p.m.

The Lady Monarchs have not played since December 7 and take a 3-5 record into their matchup with Catholic.  The Cardinals, who won the 2013 Landmark Conference Tournament championship last season and were an NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier, own a 5-3 record in the early going.

Regis College of Massachusetts is 5-2 on the year while Clark University is 3-5.

King's has been paced by junior forward Marissa Manning who tops the squad with 12.8 points per-game while adding 6.1 rebounds. Freshman Kayla Feairheller follows with 10.6 points and 4.8 rebounds while sophomore forward Jennifer Fabian adds 9.9 points and a team-high 10.9 rebounds.

Freshman guard Shae Grim contributes 8.0 points and 4.3 boards while fellow rookie guard Kasey Seitz has tallied 6.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists each contest. Senior forward Jessica McHugh chips in with 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds while making a team-high 11 three-pointers.

Catholic is paced by four double-figure scorers. Jayni Webster stops the squad with 12.5 points while Emily Grabiak follows with 12.3 points. Melissa Errico adds 10.5 points while Josephine Migash contributes 10.3 points.

Regis has also received balanced scoring with four double-figure scorers. Emilee Marro leads the team with 16.6 points while Amanda Hawkesworth follows with 14.1 points. Claire Ramonas adds 10.7 points while Janaya Bradley chips in with 10.3 each contest.

For Clark, Ashleigh Condon and Emily Reilly both average 14.1 points per-game while Brooke Brennan and Aretha Sullivan chip in with 7.8 and 7.0 points per-game respectively.
