KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO DEL-VAL IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE OPENER

DOYLESTOWN -- The host Delaware Valley College women's basketball team opened up a 20-point halftime lead and walked away with a 77-56 victory over visiting King's College in the Freedom Conference opener for both teams Wednesday in Doylestown.

With the loss, King's fell to 3-4 overall while the Aggies improved to 2-2.

Freshman Kayla Feairheller led the team with 11 points and four rebounds. Fellow rookie Kasey Seitz followed with nine points, six rebounds, and four assists while King's third freshmen starter, Shae Grim, tallied nine points. Sophomore Jennifer Fabian tallied eight points and 13 rebounds while junior Marissa Manning contributed eight points and six rebounds. 

The Lady Monarchs committed 28 turnovers and surrendered 21 offensive rebounds to the Aggies. King's also shot only 16.7 (3-18) percent from three-point range.

Delaware Valley was paced by Breanna Coll with 16 points and six rebounds while Shannon Barlow followed with 13 points and five boards. Kelsey Kilpatrick chipped in with 12 points to aid the Aggie cause.

The Lady Monarchs return to the court Saturday when King's hosts defending Freedom Conference champion FDU-Florham in a rematch of last season's league title game at 1:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gym.
