King's Men's Basketball Closes Out Season Hosting Wilkes on Saturday

 
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The King's College men's basketball team finishes up their season by hosting crosstown rival Wilkes Saturday afternoon at Scandlon Gymnasium for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.

The Monarchs are 9-15 overall and 4-9 in the Freedom Conference following a 65-59 loss to Misericordia on Wednesday. Wilkes stands at 11-12 overall and 4-9 in league play after dropping an 82-74 decision to DeSales. King's won the first meeting between the two teams 71-54 on Jan. 16.
 
Junior guard Kyle Hammonds leads the way for the Monarchs with 12.5 points per game to go with 3.6 rebounds. Senior Matt Fiorino adds 10.4 points per contest while connecting on 59 three-pointers on the season.
 
Tim O'Shea has given King's a lift off the bench scoring 7.7 points and pulling down 4.4 boards per game. Keyton Winder also averages 7.7 points. Senior Ian Oakley has dished out 76 assists on the season while posting 4.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
 
The Colonel offense is led by Chris Shovlin averaging 22.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Tyler Bresnitsky is also turning in double-figure scoring with 12.6 points per outing. Pat Furst chips in 7.6 points and 3.0 boards per contest.
 
King's senior Fiorino and Oakley will be honored before the game.
