Lady Monarch Basketball Finishes Regular Season Play Against Wilkes

 
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. – The King's College women's basketball team closes out Freedom Conference play on Saturday when they host Wilkes at 1:00 p.m. at Scandlon Gymnasium.

The Lady Monarchs are playoff bound at 19-5 overall and 11-2 in the Freedom Conference after a 78-56 victory over Misericordia Wednesday. Wilkes carries an 11-13 overall record and 2-11 mark in league play into Saturday's game after dropping a 72-54 decision to DeSales. King's got the better of the Colonels 66-41 on Jan. 16.
 
Katlin Michaels leads the way for the Lady Monarchs averaging 15.3 points, 7.0 assists and 6.6 rebounds per game. Michaels dished out a school-record 15 assists against Misericordia. She is also just five points shy of becoming the 20th player in King's history to join the 1,000 point club. Celia Rader adds 13.3 points and has hit 68 shots from beyond the arc.
 
Lindsay Atchison is the third King's player averaging double-figure scoring with 10.3 points per game. Jennifer Fabian has stepped into the starting lineup after injuries and is now averaging 7.3 points and leads the team with 7.1 boards per game. Molly Dahl adds 6.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.
 
The Colonel offense is paced by Elena Stambone and her 18.3 points per game. Stambone is also grabbing 4.5 rebounds. Megan Kazmerski is also averaging double figures with 10.7 points and 5.0 boards. Chelsea Brown chips in 8.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per contest. Ellen Rich leads the Colonels in rebounding with 7.4 boards per game to go with 3.8 points.
 
King's will honor five seniors Michaels, Rader, Atchison, Dahl and Kyley Henry before the game.
