APRIL 12, 2013KING'S SWEENEY TO BE FEATURED TONIGHT ON WNEP TV-16
WILKES-BARRE -- Tonight, WNEP TV-16, Northeaster and Central Pennsylvania's ABC affiliate, will air a feature story on King's baseball standout Chris Sweeney and the phenomenal season he is having. The piece will air during the 6:00 PM news with their sports segment airing around 6:20 PM. The piece could air again on the 11:00 PM news but that is not certain.
Prior to yesterday's game with Penn College, Sweeney was the NCAA Division III national leader in two major categories (batting average and slugging percentage) and was also ranked highly in three others.
Chris thus far has enjoyed a season that statistically ranks as the finest ever in King's history and is very deserving of the notoriety. Thus far he has been named the Freedom Conference "Player of the Week" and has twice been named honorable mention for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association "National Player of the Week"

1st in batting average: .576 (49 hits-85 at-bats)
1st in slugging percentage: 1.153 (98 total bases in 85 at-bats)
2nd in Home Runs Per-Game: 0.41 (9 in 22 games)
2nd in RBI's Per-Game: 1.68 (37 in 22 games)
5th in doubles per-game: 0.636 (14 in 22 games)
