King's Men's Tennis Wins Key Freedom Conference Match Against Arcadia
Glenside, Pa. -- The King's College men's tennis team took two of three doubles matches and the top four singles matches to earn a 6-3 victory over host Arcadia on Saturday in Freedom Conference action.
With the win the the Monarchs improve to 9-8 overall and 4-1 in the Freedom Conference while the Knights dropped to 5-7 overall and 1-4 in league play.The victory also enabled the Monarchs to lock up the second seed in the Freedom Confernece Tournament.
The Monarchs picked up an 8-2 win at number one singles from
Tony Bevevino and
Jake Rohring. Chris Dimino and
Ryan Hegarty scored an 8-5 win at third flight doubles.
Bevevino and Rohring also picked up singles wins. Bevevino won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 over Vince Voulo while Rohoring picked up a straight set win 6-3, 6-3 against Pedro Leal.
At third flight singles Dimino earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Alex Colton. The Monarchs also picked up a win from
Andrew Panzitta in the number four singles.
The Monarchs are back in action Saturday when they host Eastern in the regular season finale at 1:00 p.m. at Kirby Park.
