KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS WITH ALABRIGHT, GWYNEDD-MERCY
READING -- The King's College women's volleyball team split a tri-meet at Albright College Saturday in Reading.
King's won its first match against Gwynedd-Mercy College 3-0 by scores of 25-20, 25-15, 25-13. The Lady Monarchs then fell to host Albright 3-1 by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 26-16, 25-16.
With the split King's stands at 6-2 on the year.
Against Gwynedd, Mary Loughran had 21 assists, seven digs and one service ace. Emily Heimbecker followed with 10 kills and 18 digs. Jessica Carr added five kills and two block assists while Kelsie Kramer and D.J. McCloskey posted three kills. Sarah Busse and Aubrey Gryskiewicz chipped in with seven assists each.
In the match with Albright, King's was paced by Carr with 10 kills and six digs. Kramer followed with nine kills and three digs. Loughran distributed 24 assists and five digs while Gryskiewicz and Elen O'Donnel chipped in with 22 and 20 digs respectively. Eboni Chase contributed with 14 digs.
King's opens Freedom Conference play Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. matchup with defending league champion Eastern University.
