KING'S MEN'S SOCCER DOWNS BBC, 5-2
CLARKS SUMMIT —
Ritchie Reyes set up two goals with assists and the King's College men's soccer team built a 5-0 lead before settling for a 5-2 victory over host Baptist Bible College Wednesday in Clarks Summit.
With the win, King's improved to 3-1-2 on the year while the Defenders slipped to 2-5.
King's took a 1-0 lead on a Baptist Bible own-goal 13:54 into the match. The lead grew to 2-0 when
Raul Cruz found the back of the net off a feed from Reyes at the 31:46 mark. The Monarchs added another goal at 55:41 when
Niall Croke scored off a pass by
Cameron Rhodes.
Anthony Tuminello pushed the score to 4-0 nearly four minutes later on an unassisted goal. King's stayed on the offensive and upped the lead to 5-0 when
Chris Nygren scored on Reyes' second assist.
Baptist Bible got on the board at 69:40 on a Josh Taylor goal. The Defenders closed out the scoring at the 84:37 mark on a goal from Kyle Bassard.
King's outshot Baptist Bible 17-6 and held a 10-6 advantage in corner kicks.
Karl Jamiolkowski made two saves in 59 minutes of work while
Tyler Wilson played the final 30:30 and did not make a save.
King's plays host to Arcadia University Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
