King's Men's Tennis Blanks Susquehanna, 9-0

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS DEFEATS SUSQUEHANNA, 9-0

SELINSGROVE -- The King's College men's tennis team wrapped up the 2013 spring dual meet season with a 9-0 victory over host Susquehanna University Sunday in Selinsgrove.

King's improved to 3-0 on the year while Susquehanna slipped to 0-3.

The Monarchs did not drop a set over the entire match and only one Crusader player won more than four games in any one set.

George Parkhust improved to 8-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at number-one singles while Stephen Brand upped his singles ledger to 6-1 eith a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the second singles slot. Tony Bevevino won 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 5-2 at number-three singles while Jake Rohring improved to 6-2 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles. Chris DiMino upped his season mark to 5-2 with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at fifth singles while Andrew Panzitta was a 7-6 (7-3), 6-0 victor in the number-six singles flight, improving his record to 6-2.

In doubles, King's teams of Parkhurst/Brand, Bevevino/Rohring, and DiMino/Panzitta all posted one-sided victories.

The Monarchs will next compete in the University of Scranton Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday.
