KING'S VOLLEYBALL DOWNS STATEN ISLAND, 3-1
STATEN ISLAND, NY -- Freshman Jessica Carr pounded down 16 kills to power the King's College women's volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over host College of Staten Island Thursday in Staten Island, NY.
King's, which won by scores of 25-16, 25-15, 20-25, 25-21, improved to 7-5 on the year while Staten Island sipped to 4-7.
Joining Carr as statistical leaders were Mary Loughran with 36 assists, seven digs, and three kills, as well as Alexa Nelson with nine kills and eight digs. Sarah Busse added seven kills and 14 digs while Kelsie Kramer also posted seven kills. Elen O'Donnell tallied five kills and eight digs while Alyssa Powell contributed two kills and four digs. Katie Senunas posted three service aces while Aubrey Gryskiewicz chiped in with five digs.
King's return to the court on Saturday when the Lady Monarchs host a tri-meet on Homecoming. King's will play St. Joseph's-Brooklyn at 11:00 a.m. before meeting Medgar Evers College at 3:00 p.m.
The Lady Monarch Alumni Game will follow at 4:30 p.m.
