Fenster's Hat-Trick Lifts King's Men's Soccer Over Marywood
Wilkes-Barre, Pa. -- Freshman
Brian Fenster scored three goals on three shots to help King's men's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over Marywood Saturday night at McCarthy Stadium.
The Monarchs wasted no time jumping out to a 1-0 advantage when Fenster finished a
Daniel Hernandez pass just inside the right post just 1:52 into the contest.
King's started the second half much like the first with
Cameron Rhodes scored just 59 seconds into the second frame heading a
Chris Nygren pass the back of the net.
The Pacers got on the board in the 55th minute when Daniel Hall took a long through pass from Matthew Hull and tucked it inside the far post to cut the King's lead to 2-1. Fenster pushed the Monarch lead back to 3-1 chipping in a
Chris Nygren pass at 60:20.
Marywood was able to get back within one, 3-2, at the 67:48 mark on Daniel Hull's second tally, but Fenster completed the hat trick with 1:19 to play in the game to set the final at 4-2.
Nygren tallied a pair of assists for the Monarchs while Rhoades finished with a goal and an assist.
Karl Jamiolkowski picked up the win for King's in net making four stops. Justin Sunseri took the loss making two saves for the Pacers.
The Monarchs improved to 4-2-2 on the season and return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Alvernia for their final tune up before Freedom Conference play.
