KING'S VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS TRI-MEET

WILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's volleyball team enjoyed a successful Homecoming as the Lady Monarchs swept a tri-meet from visiting St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, along with Medgar Evers College.  

King's won both games by 3-0 scores to improve to 9-5 on the year.  The Lady Monarchs bested St. Joseph's by scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25=16, before downing Medgar Evers 25-14, 25-14, 25-10.

In the opener, Jessica Carr had 13 kills and six digs while Kelsie Kramer added 12 kills and a solo block. Mary Loughran dished out 37 assists with 12 digs while Sarah Busse registered 16 digs , six kills, and two assists. Alexa Nelson had nine kills while Katie Senunas contributed four digs, two kills, and an ace. Eboni Chase chipped in with nine kills.

Against Medgar Evers, Nelson had seven kills while Aubrey Gryskiewicz posted three kills, three aces, and eight digs. Tia Rex tallied three kills and five digs while Loughran had eight assists and two kills. Busse chipped in with seven assists, six aces, and two digs.

King's returns to Freedom Conference action Wednesday with a 7 PM home matchup against Manhattanville College.
