KING'S MEN'S SOCCER POSTS 3-0 VICTORY OVER KEYSTONE
LaPLUME -- The King's College men's soccer team picked up its first victory of the season as the Monarchs posted a 3-0 victory over host Keystone College Thursday in LaPlume.
With the win, the Monarchs improved to 1-1-1 on the year. Keystone, meanwhile, slipped to 0-2.
King's took a 1-0 lead into the half-time break when Niall Croke scored off an assist by Cameron Rhodes.
The lead grew to 2-0 when Croke dished out an assist on a goal by Erik Foster just 0:39 into the second half. The Monarchs pushed across the final goal of the game at 77:24 when Matt Cossari scored his first collegiate goal unassisted.
The Monarchs dominated play, outshooting the Giants 15-3 while holding a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
King's starting goalie Mark Labbadia made one save in 77 minutes of play while back-up Karl Jamiolkowski played 13 minutes without registering a save. Danny O'Rourke made six saves for Keystone.
The Monarchs return to action Sunday when the team travels to Troy, NY to face
the Sage Colleges at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in a 1 PM matchup.
