WILKES-BARRE -- The host King's College women's soccer team broke open a scoreless game at the half with a pair of second half goals as the Lady Monarchs posted 2-1  victory over visiting Elmira College Friday night in the Betzler Athletic Complex.

With the win, King's improved to 3-0 for the first time since the 1997 squad opened the season with a 5-0 mark. Elmira, meanwhile, slipped to 1-1.

King's goalies Lauren Duguid and Natale played one half each with both making two stops.  The Lady Monarchs held a 12-6 advantage in shots while both teams took two corner kicks.

The Lady Monarchs will be idle until Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Alvernia for a 7:00 p.m. matchup in Reading.
