KING'S WRESTLERS GO 0-4 AT NORTH-SOUTH DUALS
COLLEGEVILLE -- A depleted King's College wrestling teams was unable to overcome three forfeits in each match along with the team's top grappler as the Monarchs went 0-4 at the North-South Duals Saturday at Ursinus College.
King's fell to the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy 41-13 before dropping a 37-18 verdict to Wesleyan (Ct.) College. The Monarchs then fell 36-9 to host Ursinus before losing to Rhode Island College 36-11 in its final match. King's which also competed without its top wrestler ninth-ranked Tommy Desir (13-0), fell to 1-8 on the year.
Senior Cemah Tudah-Torboh was King's top performer on the day going 4-0 at 197 and heavyweight. Tudae-Torboh posted a pin and two decisions along with a forfeit triumph. Junior Shane Stark finished the day with a 3-1 mark, tallying a pin, major decision, and decision at 184-pounds. Â Freshman heavyweight Elijah Gresham was 2-1 on the day, picking up a pin and forfeit. Â Senior Chris Mazzocchi went 2-2, posting a pair of major decision victories at 149-pounds.
The Monarchs return to the mats Saturday at the Mt. St. Vincent University Invitational Tournament in New York City.
