Feairheller Posts Career Day in King's Loss to Manhattanville

Kayla Feairheller posted a career-high 32 points, but it wasn't enough as King's dropped an 88-68 decision to host Manhattanville Saturday afternoon at Kennedy Gymnasium.
With the win the Valiants moved to 6-10 overall and 2-4 in Freedom Conference play. The Monarchs slipped to 4-13 overall and 0-6 in league play.
The teams played close early with the Lady Monarchs grabbing a 6-5 lead at the 14:27 mark on a Feairheller layup. Bri Papbon gave Manhattanville the lead with a jumper on the next possession. The Valiant lead swelled to as much five 16-11 with 9:24 to play. The Valiants used a 20-7 run over the next seven minutes capped by a Candice Scott-Masonh layup to put Manhattanville up 36-18.
King's was able to trim the lead to 37-23 at the 1:06 mark when
Kasey Seitz hit a 3-pointer. The Valiants tallied the next six points to take a 43-23 advantage into the break.
After Alyson Caiazzo tallied the first basket of the second frame to extend the Valiant lead to 45-23, King's went on 10-0 spurt to cut the lead down to 45-33 with 16:52 to play in the game.
That is the as close as King's would get with Manhattanville netting a 6-0 run of their own to go back up 51-33. The Valiant lead never fell below 15 and swelled to as much as 27.
Feairheller became the first King's player to tally 30 points in a game since Kaitlyn Fiorino tallied 31 against Norwich on January 5, 2008. Feairheller also completed her third double-double of the season grabbing 15 boards.
Jennifer Fabian also posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 boards.
For Manhattanville four players scored in double figures paced by 24 points from Pabon. Ashley Franklin and Caiazzo each tallied 17 points and seven rebounds. Scott-Mason netted 11 points and eight boards.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action on Wednesday when they host Misericordia at 6:00 p.m. at Scandlon Gymnasium.
