King's Volleyball Drops Pair at Ithaca Tourney

KING'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO ON FINAL DAY OF ITHACA TOURNAMENT

ITHACA, NY -- The King's College volleyball team dropped both its Sunday matches to finish the 2014 Ithaca College Invitational with a 1-3 mark.

In its opener, King's fell to Wells College 3-1 by scores of 25-10, 18-25, 25-23, 25-16. The Lady Monarchs then lot to Ithaca 3-0 by scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-9.  King's now stands at 11-9 on the year.

In the match Mary Loughran had 26 assists and 15 digs. Emily Heimbecker followed with eight kills, 14 digs, and two blocks. Alexis Swagler added eight kills and two blocks while Katelyn Shifflett contributed six kills, three blocks. Sarah Busse tallied six digs, two kills and two blocks while Elen O'Donnell registered 11 digs. Brenna Smudde had eight digs while Jessica Carr posted three kills and three digs.

Against Ithaca, Loughran had nine assists, three kills, and seven digs while O'Donnell followed with three kills, eight digs, and two aces. Carr and Mackenzie Martin posted  three kills and  one dig each while Swagler contributed two kills , two digs, and a block. Smudde and Aubrey Gryskiewicz registered four and five kills respectively while Emma Hanrahan chipped in with four digs.

King's returns to the court Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. home matchup with Misericordia University in Scandlon Gymnasium.
