King's Volleyball Falls to Misericordia in Freedom Conference Matchup

KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO MISERICORDIA

WILKES-BARRE — In a matchup of local rivals, visiting Misericordia University remained unbeaten in Freedom Conference competition with a 3-0 victory over host King's College Wednesday night in Scandlon Gym. Misericordia, which won by scores of 25-16, 25-14, 25-19, improved to 15-13 overall and 5-0 in Freedom Conference games.  King's, meanwhile, fell to 11-10 and 0-5 in league competition.

Katelyn Shifflett led King's with nine kills while Mary Loughran dished out 19 assists and nine digs. Aubrey Gryskiewicz followed with eight digs and three kills while Alexis Swagler added three kills and three digs. Ellen O'Donnell tallied four kills and five digs; Brenna Smudde posted seven digs; while Kelsie Kramer contributed two kills and one block.

For Misericordia, Meghan Stack had a team-high eight kills with five digs while Nicole Tagerty added 23 assists, four kills, and eight digs. Kellyn Swanson posted six kills and three service aces while Shelby Brochetti registered eight kills and two digs.

King's returns to action Friday when the Lady Monarchs host the College of Staten Island at 6:00 p.m. on Senior Night.
