KING'S FIELD HOCKEY POSTS 3-1 WIN OVER ALBRIGHT

WILKES-BARRE -- Brianna DiMaggio scored twice and Meghan Lermond dished out two assists as the King's  College field hockey team posted a 3-1 victory over visiting Albright College Thursday at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win King's improved to 7-7 while Albright slipped to 1-14.

King's opened the scoring at 18:07 of the first half when DiMaggio redirected a crossing pass from the right wing by Lermond.  The Monarchs scored just 1:06 later when DiMaggio drilled in a shot off a penalty corner feed by Lermond to push the score to 2-0.

In the second half King's made it a 3-0 game at 51:36 when Haley Tomaszewski struck net off a crossing pass by Nicole SottAlbright pushed a cross the game's final goal after a series of penalty corners when Kendra Delgado converted a pass from Amanda Smith at 53:42.

King's outshot Albright 16-3 and held a 11-7 advantage in penalty corners.  King's goalie Paige Tedik made two saves while Lion keeper Gabby Frake made five stops.

The Monarchs return to action Saturday with a 12:00 p.m. matchup at Manhattanville  College in Purchase, NY.
