DIMAGGIO SCORES GAME WINNER AS KING'S FIELD HOCKEY DEFEATS MANHATTANVILLE 1-0

PURCHASE, NY --- Brianna DiMaggio scored the only goal of the game to lead the King's College field hockey team to an important 1-0 defeat of Manhattanville College on Saturday.

With the win King's improves to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in Freedom play while Manhattanville falls to 3-12 overall and 0-4 in Freedom play.

DiMaggio's goal came in the first half when she scored off an assist by Anastasia Araviakas at 28:46. Alyssa Monaghan had six shots for the Monarchs while DiMaggio had five.

King's outshot Manhattanville 20-11 and held an advantage in corners 10-7. Paige Tedik made five saves in goal for the Monarchs. Meghan Hughes made nine save in goal for the Valiants.

The Monarchs will next be in action on Wednesday when they host Misericordia University at 7:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
