KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS WILKES 1-0WILKES-BARRE, PA --- The King's College Women's soccer team defeated Wilkes University 1-0 on Saturday on a first half goal scored by
Christina Nassaney.
With the win King's improves to 4-6-2 overall and 1-2- in the Freedom Conference while Wilkes falls to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in the Freedom Conference.
Nassaney scored the only goal on the game when she was able to hit the upper left corner of the net from 32 yards out on a free kick at 24:49 to give King's a 1-0 lead. Wilkes came close to tying the game late in the second half at 87:23 when Grace Fazzi's shot at an open net was kicked out by Monarch defender
Lindsey Humanik.
The Colonels outshot King's 7-4 and held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Jessica Natale made one save in goal for the Monarchs.
King's will next be in action on Tuesday when they travel to St. David, PA to face Eastern University at 3:30 p.m.
