KING'S VOLLEYBALL WINS OPENING MATCH OF COBELSKILL INVITATIONAL

COBELSKILL, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball team made good on its only match of the night as the Lady Monarchs defeated SUNY-IT in the opening round of the Cobelskill Invitational Friday in Cobelskill, NY.

With the win King's improved to 13-11 on the year.

Freshman Katelyn Shifflett continued her torrid play, leading King's with 16 kills, 15 service points, and seven digs. Emily Heimbecker followed with 11 kills and 15 digs while Kelsie Kramer added eight kills and two blocks.

Mary Loughran dished out 23 assists with two kills and nine service points while Sarah Busse tallied 13 digs and 15 service points. Alyssa Powell contributed 13 service points while Jessica Carr chipped in with five kills.

The Lady Monarchs continue the tournament Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts before closing out play at 3:00 p.m. with host SUNY-Cobelskill.
