King's Volleyball Splits at MAC Crossover Duals, Loughran Surpasses 1,500 Assist mark

KING'S VOLLEYBALL SPLITS AT MAC CROSS-OVER DUALS, LOUGHRAN SURPASSES 1,500 ASSIST MARK

GLENSIDE -- The King's College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches and senior setter Mary Loughran surpassed the 1,500 assist mark for her career at the MAC Crossover Duals Saturday at Arcadia University in Glenside.

King's (10-5) dropped its first match to Arcadia 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-16) before posting a 3-1 victory over Hood College (25-11, 17-25, 25-19, 25-16)

Against Arcadia  Katelyn Shifflett had five kills and four solo blocks. Loughran posted 15 assist with three digs while Emily Heimbecker, Jessica Carr, and Elen O'Donnell had three kills each. Sarah Busse and Aubrey Gryskiewicz tallied eight and seven kills respectively. Kelsie Kramer chipped in with six digs.

In the match against Hood, Shifflett pounded down 16 kills and hit .50 percent for the match. Jessica Carr added eight kills and two blocks while Kramer tallied six kills and five digs. Loughran distributed 28 assists and now has 1,509 in her three-year career after not player her freshman year.She also contributed 15 digs in the match.

Brenna Smudde added eight digs while Emily Heimbecker posted five kills and seven digs while Alyssa Powell chipped in with seven digs.

King's will next travel to face cross-town rival Wilkes on Tuesday in a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
