KING'S FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO SCRANTON, 2-0
 
SCRANTON -- The University of Scranton field hockey team broke open a game scoreless at the half with two goals in the second stanza to secure a 2-0 victory over visiting King's College Wednesday at Fitzpatrick Field.

With the win Scranton improved to 9-2 while King's slipped to 6-6.

The Lady Royals pushed across the first goal with 13:32 left in the contest when Jessica Pankey converted a pass from Jessica Kaplowitz into a 1-0 lead.  Scranton added an insurance goal with 3:59 to play when Lara Haab scored off an assist from Meghan Kearney. 

 
Scranton outshot King's 20-7 and held a 17-5 advantage in penalty corners. King's goalie Paige Tedik made eight stops while Krisi Katra posted two defensive saves in the game.
 
King's returns home Friday to host FDU-Florham in an important Freedom Conference matchup at 4:00 p.m. at McCarthy Stadium.
