King's Volleyball Drops Pair in Season Finale

KING'S VOLLEYBALL TEAM CLOSES OUT SEASON WITH TWO LOSSES IN TRI-MEET

Throggs Neck, NY -- The King's College women's volleyball team closed out its season with a pair of losses in a tri-angular meet Saturday a SUNY-Maritime.

King's lost to Brooklyn 3-0 by scores of 25-18, 25-22, 25-19 in its first match. The Lady Monarchs then fell to host SUNY-Maritme 3-2 by scores of 25-18, 25-15, 28-30, 18-25, 15-10. 

King's ended its season with an overall record of 16-13.

In the match with Brooklyn, Emily Heimbecker posted eight kills and six digs.  Katelyn Shifflett followed with five kills. Elen O'Donnell registered 10 digs while Jessica Carr tallied four kills. Sarah Busse dished out 14 assists and seven digs while Brenna Smudde chipped in with eight digs.

Against SUNY-Maritime, King's was paced by O'Donnell and Alexis Swagler with eight kills each. Smudde had 17 digs while Emma Hanrahan posted 25 assists. Mackenzie Martin tallied four kills and 19 digs while Aubreh Gryskiewicz contributed four kills and 21 digs.
