KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO SCRANTON, 74-52SCRANTON, PA --- Meredith Mesaris scored a game high 19 points and had eight rebounds to lead Scranton University to a 74-52 victory over King's College at the Long Center in Scranton on Tuesday.
With the win Scranton improves to 5-0 while King's falls to 2-3.
Kayla Feairheller lead King's with 15 points and five rebounds.
Kasey Seitz tallied nine points while
Olivia Hoffman had eight points and four blocks.
Tara Zdancewicz had six points and four rebounds for the Lady Monarchs.
For Scranton, Alexix Roman tallied 17 points and nine rebounds while Lia DiSciascio posted 15 points on 5 three-point shots and nine rebounds.
The Lady Monarchs shot 33.3 (18-54) percent from the field and 27.8 (5-18) percent from three point range. The Lady Royals shot 41.8 (28-67) percent from the field and 25.0 (5-20) percent from three-point range. Scranton used their size to out rebound King's 51-28.
The Lady Monarch will be back in action next Wednesday when they open Freedom Conference play against Delaware Valley in their first home game of the season at 6:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
