UNDERMANNED KING'S WRESTLERS FALL TO DELAWARE VALLEY

DOYLESTOWN -- A depleted King's College wrestling team continued to struggle as the visiting Monarchs dropped a 53-4 decision to Delaware Valley College Friday night in Doylestown.

With the win the host Aggies improved to 9-5 while King's slipped to 1-12.

The injury-plagued Monarchs were once again forced to wrestle shorthanded as King's forfeited four weight classes.  Of the six matches wrestled, the Aggies posted four pins, one technical fall and one major decision.

King's lone victory came at 149-pounds when Monarch senior Chris Mazzocchi earned a 14-0 major decision over Sekou Harris.  Among the wrestlers not competing for King's are senior Tommy Desir (21-0) ranked fifth nationally at 165-pounds, and junior Shane Stark (11-4), a 2013 NCAA Division III national tournament qualifier.

The Monarchs will be at home on Tuesday when King's hosts Muhlenberg College at 7:00 p.m. in Scandlon Gymnasium.
