King's Men's Tennis Posts Convincing 8-1 Triumph over Leb-Valley

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS POSTS 9-1 WIN OVER LEBANON VALLEY

ANNVILLE -- In their first match since last competing March 4 over Spring Break, the King's College men's tennis team show little rust with a solid 8-1 victory over host Lebanon Valley College Sunday in Annville.

With the win King's improved to 4-3 on the year while the Flying Dutchmen slipped to 3-4.

The Monarchs took a 3-0 lead after sweeping the doubles competition, then clinched the match by capturing five-of-six singles bouts.

In singles, George Parkhurst, Stephen Brand, Tony Bevevino, Jake Rohring, and Chris DiMino were all straight set winners. Parkhurst was dominant in winning 6-1, 6-0 while Brand was equally impressive in a 6-2, 6-2 triumph.

In doubles, Parkhurst tesmed with Bevevino in the number-one flight to win 8-2 while Rohring and Brand were 8-0 victors in the second flight. Ryan Hegarty and Tyler Ryman won number-three doubles by a 8-4 count.

The Monarchs men will be back in action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. Freedom Conference matchup against Stevenson University.
