In the opener, the Monarchs broke open a 2-2 tie with four runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Civello led off with a double and Tom Gibbons  singled. Peter Kelly then delivered a sacrifice fly to plate Civello. Kris Carr reached base on an error, allowing Kelly to advance to second-base. Tim Zaccone then reached on a fielder's choice as an Aggie error on he play loaded the base. Joe Zito then smacked a double to centerfield, clearing the bases and giving the Monarchs a 6-2 lead.

In the bottom of the sixth the Aggies cut the lead to 6-4 after a pair of two-run doubles. After the Monarchs failed to score in the seventh, Delaware Valley tried to rally, taking advantage of three walks issued by the Monarchs to load the bases with one out.   From there relief pitcher Greg Bartle entered the game and induced a ground ball to register the second out on a force play at home. Bartle then earned the save by striking out the final batter to end the game and preserve a Monach victory.

Zito was 3-for-3 with two doubles and four RBI. Civello was 2-for-4 with two doubles while Zaccone finished 1-for-3 and scored twice. Tom Gibbons was 1-for-3 and scores a run. Bartle was 1-for-4 with a RBI while playing third-base, then picked up the pitching save by retiring the final two batters. Cody Patton was the winner, allowing three earned runs in five and one-third innings with six strikeouts.

In the nightcap, Delaware Valley held a 4-2 lead after three innings but the Aggies put up a four-spot in the fourth to build a 8-2 advantage.

King's scored three in the sixth on the strength of a double by Anthony Lizzi,  RBI single from Dan Tully, and a RBI ground out off the bat of Tom Gibbons to close to within 8-5.

But the Aggies put up an insurance run in the bottom of the frame on a solo home run to set the final score.

Tully was 3-for-4 with a solo home run, double, and two RBI. Lizzi and Zaccone were both 2-for-4 with a run scored Zito and Civello added one hit each.

Tully, who was also King's starting pitcher, took the loss, allowing eight earned runs in three and one-third innings on nine base hits while striking out two batters.
