KING'S BASEBALL FALLS TO MISERICORDIA 12-0

WILKES-BARRE -- The Misericordia University baseball team banged out 13 hits and took advantage of eight King's College errors as the visiting Cougars posted a 12-0 victory over the Monarchs Monday at Lipo Field in the Betzler Athletic Complex.

With the win Misericordia improved to 20-11-1 overall and 14-4 in the Freedom Conference while King's slipped  to 7-15 and 5-12 in league play.

The Cougars scored two runs in both the first and second innings while adding four more in the third to build an 8-0 lead, thanks in large part to six King's errors over the first three innings.  Misericordia added one in the fifth, two in the sixtg, and one in the seventh to walk away with the win. 
Nick hair was 3-for-3 with two RBI while Joe Tagliarini was 2-for-4 with three RBI, including a two-run home run. Jeremy DeCotiss finished 2-for-3 with two runs while Kyle Seawards was 2-for-4 with two runs.

Corey Lee was the winning pitcher, allowing just two hits with five strikeouts in six complete innings.

King's had just two hits in the game as Dan Tully and Ryan Civello posted singles for the Monarchs. King's starting pitcher Cody Patton took the loss, allowing six runs, only one which was earned, on four hits over two innings. Andrew Fisher pitched four innings of relief and allowed six runs, four earned. In all, seven of Misericordia's 12 runs were unearned.

King's returns to the field Tusday with a 3:30 p.m. home matchup with Manhattanville College.
