King's Men's Tennis Hosting FDU-Florham in Friday Freedom Conference Semi-Final

KING'S MEN'S TENNIS TEAM HOSTING FDU-FLORHAM IN FREEDOM SEMI-FINALS

WILKES-BARRE -- The second-seeded King's College men's tennis team will host third-seeded FDU-Florham in the Freedom Conference Tournament semi-finals Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Kirby Park.

King's stands at 12-4 on the year and are 5-1 in league play. The Monarchs look to duplicate its 8-1 win over FDU back on April 5. The Devils enter the match at 7-4 overall and a 4-2 league mark.

The Monarchs, who are making their fourth straight berth in the Freedom Conference semi-finals,  are also looking to make their third straight appearance in the conference title match with a victory.  King's posted an 8-1 victory over FDU-Florham back on April 5 in Madison, NJ.


Tony Bevevino
Sophomore George Parkhurst tops the Monarchs with a 19-3 singles mark while junior Stephen Brand and senior Tony Bevevino are both 17-6. Senior Jake Rohring is 17-9 while fellow senior Chris DiMino is 18-8.  The sixth spot will likely be manned bysophomore Rob Corridoni (3-1) or senior Andy Panzitta (14-6). 

In doubles,  Parkhurst and Bevevino are 2-0 while Brand/Rohring are 3-1. The third doubles teams will be a headed by Dimino, who will be paired with either Corridoni, Panzitta, junior Tyler Ryman, or sophomore Ryan Hegarty.

 
Should the Monarchs win King's will be expected to face top-seeded and league unbeaten Wilkes University Saturday at a time to be announced.
