KING'S FIELD HOCKEY DROPS 3-0 VERDICT TO MUHLENBERG

WILKES-BARRE -- Kayeigh Thies scored one goal and assisted on another to lead the Muhlenberg College field hockey team to a 3-0 victory over host King's College Tuesday night at McCarthy Stadium.

With the win, Muhlenberg improved to 4-1 while King's slipped to 4-3.

Muhlenberg would take a 1-0 halftime lead when Thies scored 21:41 into the game off an assist from Samantha Swire.The score grew to 2-0 just 3:07 into the second half when Lauren Jordan score off a Thies assist.

Emily Boyle netted the final goal for Muhlenberg on an unassisted tally with 18:58 to play.

Muhlenberg outshot King's 10- and had a 6-4 advantage in shots on goal. 
King's keeper Paige Tedik made three saves on the night.

The Monarchs return to the field Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. matchup at York College in York.
