KING'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO DESALES 3-0 IN FREEDOM CONFERENCE OPENERWILKES-BARRE — The King's College women's volleyball came up short in its Freedom Conference opener Wednesday night as the Lady Monarchs dropped a 3-0 verdict to visiting DeSales University in Scandlon Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs won by scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-17. With the win, King's slipped to 5-2 overall while DeSales improved to 11-3.
Katelyn Shifflett led King's with seven kills and two digs while
Mary Loughran added 25 assists 13 digs and two kills.
Emily Heimbecker tallied five kills and six digs while
Alexis Swagler also contributed five kills with one assist.
Kelsie Kramer tallied three kills and one bloc ahile
Jessica Carr and
Alyssa Powell chipped in with three and two kills respectively.
Julie Blessing led DeSales with 10 kills while Lisa Wallitsch dished out 33 assists.
King's returns to action Friday with a 6:00 p.m. Contest against St. Joseph's University of Brooklyn.
